So the price gap — $1,239 all summer, $489 after Redwood's 2026-10-19 markdown, $239 since its second cut on 2026-10-26 — is entirely about the box around the heater. That makes this comparison unusually honest to score.

Headroom and cabin ergonomics. The Redwood is 11 inches taller inside a square-walled room — bench posture and 4-adults-at-once comfort are genuinely better than a barrel's curved walls, where the "4 person" rating assumes friendly people. Included roofing. The cabin arrives roof-ready; barrel owners in rain/snow climates often add a shingle or metal top later ($200–500). Thermowood. Thermally modified spruce is a legitimate durability upgrade over untreated softwoods — though Almost Heaven's cedar option counters it.
A better warranty — it buys a dramatically worse one. Almost Heaven covers the structure for life; Redwood covers it for one year. Read that again before deciding. A 1-year structure warranty on a 1,150 lb wooden building you assemble yourself puts the long-tail risk — warping, staves loosening, door sagging in year 3 — on you. This is the single biggest objective difference between these two products, and no roundup we've seen leads with it.
Almost Heaven ran "$7,575 regular, 30% off" on every check from August until 2 November, when it went to $7,575 with no discount claimed — the first time we have seen full list. The authorised dealer is $5,303 today. Don't let a countdown rush you (red flag #7 in our vetting guide). Redwood listed a flat $7,299 with no sale theater for the first ten weeks of our price series — credit where due. On 2026-10-19 it showed a compare-at for the first time: $6,549 against a “regular” $7,299, which is the price it actually charged from 2026-08-08 to 2026-10-12. On 2026-10-26 it cut again, to $6,299, against the same $7,299 “regular”. A real markdown, honestly anchored so far; we will report whether it reverts.
Identical heaters mean identical running costs: at 4 sessions/week and the US-average $0.17/kWh, about $27/month in electricity for either. One electrical note: both manufacturers spec a 30A breaker. Our checker's conservative NEC continuous-load math (25A × 125% = 31.25A) suggests some jurisdictions will want the next size up — your electrician and local code have the final word, not the spec sheet or us.
Most buyers should take the Pinnacle — the same heat for about $240 less (it was $1,240 less all summer, then $500 less for the week after Redwood's 2026-10-19 markdown), plus a lifetime structure warranty that treats the product as what it is: a decade-plus purchase. Choose the Redwood Cabin if cabin ergonomics matter to your group (taller users, regular 4-adult sessions), you value the included roofing and cabin headroom, and you accept the 1-year structure warranty knowingly. Neither is a mistake; only one is a bargain.
